Jonny B’z

Hot dog masters

Jonny B‘z has totally changed my perspective on hot dog joints. Being a Yesterdog fan for so many years, it was hard to imagine another dog replacing that delicious sloppy mess at Yesterdog.

Well, my view has completely changed. Not only does Jonny B’z accept credit cards (unlike Yesterdog) but the staff is extremely friendly and the food is off-the-charts awesome.

It is my goal to try every single hotdog on their menu by the end of the week and post a full review of my findings.

Dogs and MORE
I think the more deserves some expanding upon:

  • Burgers – I have not had the opportunity of stomach space to try all of the burgers yet, but the one I did try was amazing. If you are a fan of Olives, you most certainly should try the Olive Burger. Jonny B’z “Olive Sauce” is off the chain. I’m not quite sure of the ingredients, but it has a distinct kick to it comparable to Outback Steakhouse’s ranch dressing. Cayenne pepper and garlic may play a huge factor in this mayonnaise based sauce.
  • Seasonings - Jonny B’z is home to some very inventive seasonings:
BACON SALT - Yeah I said it, bacon salt and YES, it is as amazing as it sounds.
VINEGAR SALT – This one is more of a powder than a salt. Absolutely delicious.
MEDITERRANEAN SEASONING – An original blend of mediterranean seasonings to kick your fries up a notch.
CELERY SALT – Just your average celery salt, but always a good fry or hotdog seasoning.
  • Fries - Pretty much a staple at all Hot dog/ Hamburger joints. Still good.
  • Other Sides/Options – That’s right, they have more than just killer dogs and burgers.
Brisket Sandwhich, Ham Sammy, Turkey Sammy, Fries, Chips and Gumbo.
  • ToppingsIf I’m not mistaken, you can get these toppings on anything you order.
Mayonnaise – Catsup – Mustard – Onion – Pickles – Housemade Amish Relish – Haystack Onions – Tomato – Lettuce BBQ Sauce – Sport Peppers – Housemade Coleslaw – Cheese – Kraut – Jonny B’z Chili

My Faves
Favorite Burger – The Oliver Burger takes the cake. The amazing combo of the grilled bun with the cook to order meat patty covered in fresh veggies and their signature olive sauce makes this a hands-down favorite.
Favorite Dogs (because its hard to have just one): The Hampton Meeks had me pleasantly surprised. I usually am not a fan of cole slaw, but on a hot dog with chili and mustard, it’s hard to hate. A definite must try. Next is a custom dog not on the menu. My fave combo of ingredients is Olive Sauce + Chili. Epic combo. I think they charged me a little extra for the olive sauce, but well worth it.

And obviously, Bacon salt must go on the fries.

Mello Yellow to wash it down from the fountain pop machine.

Play some pinball on one of their many machines while you wait for your grub.

Enjoy the food.
